"AMERICA'S OLDEST MEN'S LACROSSE CLUB" Mission Statement: The Mohawk Lacrosse Club is intended to build a brotherhood of lacrosse and comradeship in the Capital District by encouraging and elevating the game of lacrosse through fair and balanced competition.

Mohawk rules are High School rules with the following exceptions:
1- No 20 second or 10 second count. (Exception, see rule 10)
2- 5 goal mercy rule. (No face-off – regular season only)
3- 20 minute running time quarters. (Exception, see rule 4 & 6)
4- Last 4 minutes of the game is stop time when the goal difference is less than 5.
5- All penalties are stop time.
6- All clocks can stop if no lacrosse balls are on the end line. (i.e. If a player needs to
chase a ball in the corners.) Official’s discretion.
7- Penalty time starts when the player with the penalty is in the box and both teams have
had a chance to sub. An official can start the game and not start the penalty time if the
player is not in the box. Likewise, the official can start the game and penalty time if the
offensive team is not ready. (This was put in place to limit the arguing between player and
official. Usually this rule does not come into play.)
8- Officials keep game time, penalty time and score.
9- Games can be played with nine players (min.), but the goalie needs to have all the
correct equipment. Teams that don’t meet this must forfeit.
10- Stalling Rule - Stalling can only occur during stop time which is only during the final 4
minutes of the game. During this time, the team with the ball has 20 seconds to get the ball
across the midfield line and then 10 seconds to get the ball into the box. The 10 second
count will start again once the offensive leaves the box. The team that is up will get locked
into the box at the 2 minute mark. (This is just like current college/high school rules.) This
stalling rule only applies when the goal difference is less than 5.
11-The offensive box during the last 2 minutes is side line to side line.
12- No horns – all subs are on the fly.
- The Mohawk League is $120 for 12 games before playoffs. (8 out
of the 10 teams make the playoffs.)
- Teams play Monday, Wednesday, Friday @ 6 and 8pm at R.P.I.
- The Mohawk league consists of 250 men (ages 16 and over) and
for those who have paid and are not drafted, a full refund will occur.
